Why Peoria is Great for Tennis Visitors
For the avid tennis traveler, Peoria is an excellent destination. The city boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year, making year-round play a reality. Because of the desert heat, Peoria has smartly invested in lighted public courts scattered across well-maintained neighborhood parks, allowing you to enjoy comfortable evening matches. The local tennis community is highly welcoming, anchored by the USTA Southwest section, which provides plenty of drop-in events, flex leagues, and social mixers for travelers wanting to meet different people. While Peoria itself doesn't boast globally famous pros, the nearby Arizona Tennis Classic brings high-level ATP Challenger action to the region, fueling a strong, vibrant local tennis culture.
