Quick Guide & FAQ
How can residents and visitors find hitting partners of a similar skill level?
Local players frequently use online platforms to connect. Dedicated apps and websites like playyourcourt.com and globaltennisnetwork.com have active Livonia ladders. You can also join local Facebook groups by searching "Livonia Tennis" to quickly organize casual rallies.
As a visitor, what is the best way to quickly find a match?
For short-term visitors, the most efficient method is using online matching networks like playyourcourt.com, allowing you to find players without joining a club. Alternatively, visiting Schoolcraft College on a nice evening often presents opportunities to meet players hitting on the 12 public courts.
I'm visiting for 7 days. How do I get court times at public or private facilities?
Public courts in Livonia (like Schoolcraft College and Bicentennial Park) are strictly first-come, first-served and are completely free. You do not need reservations. For indoor private play, you must call neighboring clubs like Novi Athletic Club (sportsclubnovi.com) to inquire about guest passes, as Livonia itself does not have an indoor private tennis facility.
How do I join private or group tennis lessons?
For group clinics, the Livonia Parks & Recreation Department (livonia.gov) runs seasonal programs. For personalized private lessons at a park near you, use platforms like teachme.to or mytennislessons.com to book local certified instructors directly.
As an NTRP 2.0 to 4.0 player, how do I connect with others for matches?
If you are a beginner to intermediate player, the best structured way to find similar-skilled opponents is by joining the USTA Southeastern Michigan district leagues (usta.com) or participating in local ladders through globaltennisnetwork.com.
