Frequently asked questions
How can I find Hollywood players at my level?
Start with a level-appropriate clinic or round robin at David Park via smattstennis.com. For regular matches, explore a Broward USTA Florida team at ustaflorida.com or a Gladiator flex league at gladiatortennis.com. In a player post, include your NTRP estimate, singles or doubles preference, location, and available times.
What works best for a short visit?
A David Park adult clinic gets you on court with others without assembling a group. Call 954-967-4237 and ask about that week’s clinic or round robin openings. A hitting-partner service is another route, but arrange a match before traveling; a seasonal league may run longer than your stay. See clinic details at smattstennis.com and partner options at gladiatortennis.com.
Where should I get court time for seven days?
Use David Park for planned reservations, especially for clay or evening play. Ask about nonmember booking and fees. Its published three-day and seven-day online booking windows are membership benefits, so confirm what is available to visitors. Jefferson Park works for spontaneous play when no permit has priority. Nearby Golden Isles at hallandalebeachfl.gov is another staffed option. Confirm guest access before relying on a hotel or residential court. See David Park booking benefits at smattstennis.com and Jefferson Park rules at hollywoodfl.org.
How do I join a private or group lesson?
Select a group session at smattstennis.com or call David Park at 954-967-4237. Clinics require advance payment and have a published cancellation rule. For private instruction, contact the center or Maslau Tennis at maslautennis.com, 954-664-7032. Ask whether the price includes court time and which session suits your age and level.
Where should NTRP 2.0–4.0 players begin?
At 2.0–2.5, try a beginner clinic and ask the coach for practice-partner introductions. At 3.0–4.0, try an intermediate clinic, then set up rallies or matches with people you meet. USTA teams and flex leagues offer structured competition. Check the NTRP descriptions at usta.com if you are unsure of your level. Say whether you want cooperative hitting, practice sets, or scored matches.

Mix planned and spontaneous play
Reserve clay or hard-court time at David Park, then keep Jefferson Park in mind for a casual hit. West Lake Park and nearby Hallandale Beach add options. David Park clinics and round robins offer a way to meet players, while Broward leagues suit longer stays. See Hollywood sports programs at hollywoodfl.org and Golden Isles facilities at hallandalebeachfl.gov.
Bringing a group?
Arrange a facility reservation instead of assuming open courts will be available. Ask David Park about a clinic or group session, or contact Hollywood Parks about a Jefferson Park permit. Include a weather backup in your plans; Golden Isles is a nearby booking alternative, though its courts are outdoors too.
A local tennis connection: David Park has hosted competitive play, including a Broward team that won a USTA Florida sectional title. Read the USTA Florida result at ustaflorida.com.
